The country is comprised of more than 7000 islands,all of them mountainous. They are tips of a submerged mountain range, volcanic in origin. Some are still active.The larger mountainous islands such as Luzon and Mindanao have fertile valleys and broad plains.

Good months to visit: November to May. (Dry, warm,sunny days.)

Best month is January. (Dry, cooler.) November andDecember can have rain. March to May are dry but hotter. The weather is warm and humid throughout the year. Dry season is December to May. Wet season is June to November.

November and December: Warm days. 30C (86F) in afternoons with a chance of rain. Six hours of sunshine daily.
January and February: Dry, “cool” period, 31C (87F) in afternoons. Pleasant sea breezes on the coast. Seven hours of sunshine daily.

March to May: Dry, hot period, 34C (93F) in afternoons. May is hottest. Seven hours of sunshine daily.
June to October: Rainy season. Humid, cloudy. Four to 5 hours of sunshine daily. Rains almost daily,

July to September. July and August are the rainiest.
Typhoon season is June to November. It sometimes starts in May. Peak months for typhoons are August to November. There could be more than a dozen annually. The northern half of the Philippines is more susceptible to typhoons than the southern half such as Mindanao and the Visayas.
